Objective
Combination of classroom teaching and e-learning which is done before the start of the course.
- Take command of a rescue craft or man-overboard boat
- Handle survivors and rescue craft after evacuation of the ship.
- Lead fire-fighting operations on board ships.
- Organize and train fire teams.
- Inspect and maintain facilities and equipment for fire detection and extinguishing.
- Medicines and medical equipment, Intravenous fluid treatment, practical exercises
Target group
Deck officers who will repeat/update their advanced safety training and medical treatment.

Table A-VI/2-1 Rescue craft

Table A-VI/4-1 Medical first aid
Table A-VI/4-2 Medical treatment
Prerequisites
Course participants must have a valid certificate of competence for officers (deck, engine or ship electrician) or a valid course certificate for a secondary safety course.
If the competence has expired, 12 months of driving time must be documented with a valid course or certificate for officers. This is calculated 5 years back from the course's start date.
