STCW Lifeboat Coxswain/Survival Craft Refresher Course (A-VI / 2-1) w. e-learning
Objective
Combination of classroom teaching and e-learning which is done before the start of the course.
The course covers the requirements for updating drivers and crew in rescue craft (lifeboats and man-overboard boats other than fast rescue crafts) in accordance with STCW A-VI/2-1.

Course content
After the course, participants must have updated/repeated competence in:
- Take command of a rescue craft or man-overboard boat during and after launching
-Operate the engine of a rescue craft
-Handling survivors and rescue craft after evacuating the ship
-Using devices to indicate position, including communication and signaling equipment and light and smoke signals
-Give first aid to survivors
Prerequisites
Course participants must have completed basic courses in rescue craft and man overboard boats in accordance with table A-VI/2-1.
Option 1: Documentation of a valid certificate of competence as a deck, engine or ship electrician officer or a valid course/certificate in accordance with table A-VI/2-1 (ie no older than 5 years)
Option 2: If not a valid certificate as an officer or a valid course/certificate in accordance with table A-VI/2-1, documentation of 12 months can sailing time accrued before 31.12.2016 in periods with a valid officer's certificate or a valid course/certificate in accordance with table A-VI/2-1, is approved.
