STCW Fast Rescue Craft Refresher (A-VI/2-2) w. e-learning
Objective
Combination of classroom teaching and e-learning which is done before the start of the course.
Upon completion of the course, course participants should be able to:
- Take command of a FRC during and after launch.
- Operate the engine on a FRC
Target group
This training covers the requirements for updating drivers and crew in FRC according to STCW A-VI/2-2.
Course content
-Construction and equipment for FRC and each individual equipment unit on board these
-Special characteristics of and devices for FRC
-Precautions to be followed when launching a FRC and during operations to catch such a boat
-Procedures for turning a capsized FRC
-How to handle a FRC under prevailing and unfavorable weather conditions
-Navigation equipment and safety equipment found on board a FRC
Prerequisites
Course participants must have completed basic courses in rescue craft and fast recue crafts in accordance with table A-VI/2-1, or hold a valid certificate of competence (deck, engine or ship electrician officer) and have completed the FRC course in accordance with table A-VI/2-2, before participation in this course.
This must be documented by a valid FRC course or skills certificate that meets the requirements of the STCW Convention, rule VI/2 no. 2. In the case of expired FRC competence, 12 months of sailing time accumulated before 31.12.2016 must be documented with a valid certificate for FRC. This is calculated 5 years back from the course's start date.
