STCW Fast Rescue Craft Basic Course (A-VI/2-2) w. e-learning
Objective
Combination of classroom teaching and e-learning which is done before the start of the course.
Upon completion of the course, course participants should be able to:
- Take command of a fast rescue craft during and after launch.
- Operate the engine on a fast rescue craft.
Target group
This training covers the requirements for drivers and crew in fast rescue crafts according to STCW A-VI/2-2.
Course content
-Construction and equipment for FRC and each individual equipment unit on board these
-Special characteristics of and devices for high-speed FRC boats
-Precautionary rules to be followed when launching a FRC boat and during operations to get hold of such a boat
-Procedures for turning a capsized MOB boat
-How to handle a FRC boat under prevailing and unfavorable weather conditions
- Navigation equipment and safety equipment found on board a FRC boat
Prerequisites
Course participants must have completed basic safety training for seafarers, as well as basic training in rescue craft in order to participate in this course.
