STCW fast rescue boat Basic Course (A-VI / 2-2)
Objective
After completing the course, the students should:
-Take command of a high-speed rescue boat during and after deployment
-Operate the engine on the high-speed rescue boat
Target group
The course targets people who are appointed to have charge of fast rescue boats.
Course content
-The construction and outfitting of fast rescue boats, and each equipment on board these
-Specific characteristics of, and devices for fast rescue boats
-Precautions to be followed during the deployment of a rescue boat, or during an operation in order to get hold of such a boat
-Procedures for turning a capsized rescue boat
-How to handle a rescue boat under prevailing and adverse weather conditions
-Navigation equipment and safety equipment that are aboard a fast rescue boat
