STCW Coxswain Refresher Course (A-VI / 2-1)
Objective
After the course, participants will have updated / repeated their expertise in:
Taking command of a survival craft or MOB boat during and after deployment
Operating the engine of a survival craft
Managing survivors and survival craft after evacuation of the ship
Using devices to specify position, including communication and signal equipment, lighting- and smoke signals
Give first aid to survivors
Target group
Drivers of survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats.
Course content
After the course, participants will have updated / repeated their expertise in:

Prerequisites
Option 1:
Documentation of valid certificate as a deck-, marine- or ship electrician officer, or a valid course / certificate acc. Table A-VI / 2-1 (ie not older than 5 years).
Option 2: If you do not possess a valid certificate as an officer or valid course / certificate acc. Table A-VI / 2-1, documentation of 12 months. seagoing service during the past five years, gained during a period with a valid officer certificate or a valid course / certificate acc. Table A-VI / 2-1, is approved.
